Discover a real sense of satisfaction — as well as having fun — while doing good for the less fortunate people of San Francisco. Volunteer effort is the lifeblood of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society's work, and we are constantly looking for assistance from those who can help us provide services, love and attention to the needy in our communities.

Volunteer Orientations are the last Saturday of every month from 10:05 am to 10:50 am at the Wellness Center, 1175 Howard between 7th and 8th Streets, SF

In addition to the more obvious volunteer duties such as food preparation and clothing distribution, we are always in need of skilled tradespeople — construction, maintenance, painting etc., — computer and office workers, ESL and language tutors, housekeeping assistance and so on. During the winter months and Holiday Season, we especially need volunteer assistance.

Many volunteers perform charitable works at our program sites (see What We Do ) At our thirty-two Conferences volunteers carry out a variety of tasks including: collecting food and clothing, making sandwiches for the homeless, grocery shopping, picking up medicine, serving meals, visiting the poor and elderly, planning social events, providing transportation for the elderly and sorting clothing and food donations.

By becoming a member of your Conference you can join others who share a common concern for the poor and the elderly. Conference members reach out to those in need right in their local community.
